Konservolia and the Olive Grove of Amfissa

Experience and taste the magic of a historic olive grove

How popular can an olive variety be? If we’re talking about the Amfissa Konservolia, the answer is incredibly popular. This delicious, large olive, known for its rich flesh and full-bodied flavour, is celebrated in Greece and international markets. Recognised as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product by the European Union, the olive of Fokida possesses an unrivalled advantage: it is cultivated in the renowned, historic Olive Grove of Amfissa. As a key part of the unique Delphic landscape, the grove is strictly protected from any changes as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
An ancient olive grove once occupied this very same ground, traversed by the path that connected the Oracle of Delphi to the port of Kirra. Stretching across hundreds of hectares down to the Corinthian Gulf, this land has never stopped being cultivated and producing fruit.
Visit the local olive oil mills and seek out these flavourful olives in the nearby shops. You can discover the paths that wind through the grove on foot or by bicycle, and admire the ancient olive trees with their enchanting trunks and the traditional stone trafous (terraces) that delineate properties. If you follow the Delphi – Chrisso – Kirra trail (approximately 2 hours), you will come across the old cobblestone path and enjoy unparalleled views of the Corinthian Gulf, the archaeological site, and the vast sea of trees. Especially in the late afternoon, when the golden light bathes the trees, you will truly experience the magic of the Delphic landscape.
