Its slopes of varying degrees of difficulty are suitable for sleighing, snowboarding & classic skiing, and the surrounding villages cover the food and accommodation needs of visitors, with several hostels and tavernas.
The Vasilitsa Mountain Bike Park is open during the summer and consists of two bike trails. The first trail has a high difficulty level, it is 2,200 m. long, with a 473 metre drop and it is a downhill racing route. It is called Katsmalosi DH track and it's ideal for training and racing, being a route with fast and technical parts.
The second route is the Red trail, with a length of 1.500 metres and a 183 metre drop.
This is the first cycling trail that hosted races. With slight alterations, it entertains enduro bike riders and less experienced DH riders.
Hiking and mountaineering enthusiasts have many opportunities to explore beautiful landscapes, such as that of Valia Calda, or climb mountain peaks.
The Skiing - Mountaineering Association of Grevena, as well as that of Deskati, organise excursions, while information specifically about Valia Calda is available at the Information Centre of the North Pindos National Park at Mavranaioi location. It is necessary to use a 4x4 vehicle in autumn and winter, as it is the only way to drive along the dirt roads of Valia Calda. Drivers should keep an eye out for ditch water and torrents.
Activities such as rafting, canoeing & kayaking, horse riding, and archery are some of the activities organised by the local travel agencies in the area.
