Beat the butter with the icing sugar until pale and fluffy (the more you beat it, the lighter and crumblier your kourabiedes will be).
Add the flour, baking powder, vanilla, and brandy, and mix until the ingredients are fully combined.
Roast the almonds in the oven at 160°C for 15 minutes, then break them into large pieces and add them to the mixture.
Take portions of dough, shape into balls, and place them on baking trays lined with baking paper.
Bake for 20–25 minutes in a preheated oven at 160°C, until lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
Generously dust with icing sugar, arrange on a serving plate, and sprinkle more icing sugar on top.
