Blue and green in all their glory

Lush vegetation, beaches of incredible beauty, emerald waters and a strong aura of culture compose the identity of Kefalonia. It is the largest island in the Ionian Sea and was one of the most popular summer destinations in 2025.
Green and blue are harmonised, as nature has generously gifted the island with pine, cypress and olive trees, while the endemic Cephalonian fir grows on the peaks of the iconic Mount Ainos. On its slopes, the vines that produce the famous white Robola wine are cultivated.
The wealth of the island is not limited to the land. The marine world of Kefalonia is equally stunning. Rare loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) and Mediterranean monk seals (Monachus monachus) find refuge there. At Agia Efimia and Skala, the seabed hides ancient amphorae and awaits your exploration!
Cosmopolitan Argostoli is the eclectic and active capital; however, Kefalonia is large and abounds with many picturesque hamlets. There is the beautiful and peaceful hamlet of Lixouri with its traditional architecture, and picturesque Fiskardo, one of the few places on the island that escaped the catastrophic earthquake of 1953, retaining its old glamour. You can also find the quiet fishing village of Assos with its impressive Venetian castle, as well as many other small and large villages, each unique and full of history, monuments and tradition.
The comparative advantage of Kefalonia is its beaches which are countless, distinct and exotic, featuring breathtaking landscapes. It is no wonder that visitors fall in love with this hospitable island and its many charms, wishing to return at every opportunity.
