The emerald of the Aegean Sea

Thasos, the northernmost Greek island, lies a few miles from the Macedonian coast. Ancient Greek myth recounts that the Sirens once lived here, enchanting passers-by with their melodious songs. Today, Thasos itself captivates all fortunate enough to visit.
The island boasts a mountainous, verdant landscape, encircled by a substantial coastal road intermittently graced by exquisite beaches. It offers an idyllic drive, flanked by pines and olive trees on one side and the boundless azure sea on the other. Along its unique coastline, visitors encounter golden sands with shallow or deep waters and a pristine seabed, while fragrant pines caress secluded coves.
In the island’s heart, Mount Ypsario reigns, encircled by picturesque villages which retain traditional Thraco-Macedonian architecture, replete with wooden balconies and projecting upper floors. Squares, alleyways, springs, and stately mansions coalesce to form an authentic panorama.
The island’s protracted history has left indelible marks, with remarkable archaeological sites and countless churches and monasteries. Pines, oaks, firs, and plane trees cloak the mountainous terrain and wooded paths, completing the mosaic of an island that uniquely blends nature, history, and authenticity.
