The cosmopolitan lady of Parnassus

Perched on the ridge of Mount Parnassus, at times bathed in light and at others half-hidden in the clouds with its lights glimmering at night, Arachova stands proud through the passage of time. Stone-carved houses, cobbled lanes and unsurpassed natural beauty welcome its thousands of visitors. Socialites, winter sports enthusiasts, nature lovers and those who simply wish to experience its legend meet here every year: on the balcony of Mount Parnassus! 
At an altitude of approximately 970 metres, Arachova is one of the most famous and popular mountain resorts in Greece. Built amphitheatrically on the slopes of the mountain, it combines tradition with a modern cosmopolitan aura. Its narrow alleys are teeming with cafés with roaring fireplaces, cosy guest-houses, gourmet restaurants and bars with enchanting views towards the peaks of Parnassus. 
The Parnassos Ski Centre, located a short distance away, attracts both beginners and experienced skiers seeking moments of action on the snowy slopes. Those who prefer milder experiences can enjoy hiking on forested trails, mountaineering, horse riding or even paragliding under the guidance of certified professionals and with all necessary safety measures observed. In spring and summer, the surrounding nature fills with greenery and wildflowers, making it ideal for strolls and explorations.
The region is also of tremendous cultural interest. Just outside Arachova lies ancient Delphi, one of the most significant sites of antiquity. The Folklore Museum of the village teaches visitors about the history, morals and customs of the inhabitants, while every spring the three-day festival of Saint George transforms Arachova into a celebration of music, dance and flavours.
