More of Greece, coming soon...

Limeni and Porto Kagio

Where the sea meets Maniot stone

Limeni is a picturesque seaside village that "hugs" the crystal turquoise waters of the Laconic Gulf. Its stone-paved alleys, seaside tavernas, and narrow lanes leading down to the shore create a setting where the view, the sea, and the luxury of simplicity unite in a unique way. Of particular beauty is the four-storey Mavromichalis Tower, while the catholicon of the Panagia Vretti Monastery, dating back to 1731, is well worth a visit.
On the other side of the peninsula, near the southernmost tip of mainland Greece, lies Porto Kagio. It has been mentioned since the time of Homer, and its port was even used by the Minoans. Today, it is an exceptionally popular destination for visitors arriving by boat. In the neighbouring settlement of Agios Achillios, there is a castle offering a unique view of the bay and Cape Tainaron.
Both Limeni and Porto Kagio are inextricably linked to the natural wealth of Mani, offering pristine waters and a sense of connection with the tradition and life of the region. Explore them and experience the unique atmosphere of the Maniot coastline.
