Authentic mountain charm in the heart of Arcadia

In verdant Arcadia, in the heart of fir-covered Mount Mainalo, among forests and high peaks, lies picturesque Vytina. Built at an altitude of approximately 1,000 metres, it carries a rich historical heritage dating back to antiquity, when the goddess Demeter and Hippios Poseidon were worshipped in the region.
During the Greek War of Independence of 1821, Vytina became a key supply point for the fighters, and subsequently experienced great prosperity, remaining the largest commercial centre in the region until World War II. At the same time, due to the exceptional climate of the region, two sanatoriums operated here for patients with respiratory problems.
Today, Vytina is an ideal mountain destination in the heart of the Peloponnese.  It boasts unique local products, most notably the famous fir honey, one of the finest in Greece.  In winter, Vytina serves as a base for excursions to the Mainalo Ski Centre, while it offers plenty of routes for hiking, cycling, and exploring the beautiful surrounding nature throughout the year.
Venture into the wonderful Arcadian mountains, taste local products, feel the fresh mountain air, and be rejuvenated. In Vytina, you will enjoy authenticity, tranquillity, and the warm hospitality of the Arcadian land.
