Journey into the endless blue

Rocks, cliffs, and a gaze lost looking out at sea. Amorgos, located in the east of the Cyclades, is a land of wild beauty and serenity. Steep rocks, crystal clear waters, and stone-paved paths bursting with the scent of thyme, compose a backdrop of unique harmony. This is where ‘Deep Blue’ was filmed, a landmark French film of the 1980s, which made the island famous around the world. Nevertheless, Amorgos preserved its authenticity and remains an ideal destination for those seeking tranquillity and a connection with nature.
An island with a long history and three important ancient cities, Minoa, Arcesine, and Aegiali, Amorgos exudes a singular energy. The aesthetics of simplicity prevail everywhere, while the locals welcome every visitor with a smile, like an old friend, inviting them to share moments of true hospitality, local flavours, and celebrations.
Built at the centre of the island, the labyrinthine Hora is considered one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades, with narrow streets and bright white houses with colourful doors. Windmills and shaded squares invite visitors to let themselves be carried away by its magic.
The two ports, Katapola and Aegiali, are the vibrant centres of the island, each with its own personality: Katapola is calm and serene, while Aegiali is more youthful, bright and amphitheatrically built around a sheltered bay.
Amorgos has excellent trails that connect hamlets, ancient sanctuaries, chapels, and inaccessible beaches. The island invites you to experience it with all your senses. The endless blue, the silence of the rocks, and the sense of freedom that it exudes make Amorgos a place that cannot be forgotten.
