A wildly beautiful noble lady

The northernmost island of the Cyclades, Andros, is a place with a unique character and a great maritime tradition. Home to great captains and shipowners, Andros differs from the typical Cycladic islands: besides its sandy beaches and white houses, mountain ranges interchange with fertile valleys and abundant waters flow in the form of small waterfalls and streams.
Hora, the island’s capital, combines Cycladic architectural tradition with neoclassical elements. The mansions, the broad steps, the spacious tree-lined square, the imposing churches, and the museums are a truly unique composition. The final brush stroke to this picture is the small island with the Venetian castle connected to the land by a single-arch 13th-century stone bridge.
Exploring the hinterland is a true revelation. It rewards you with beautiful villages that emerge from the abundant vegetation with chestnut, walnut, and plane trees, as well as oak, willow, elm, mulberry, osier, and, of course, olive trees. Stone-paved, well-marked trails cross the island through meadows that smell of thyme, saffron, and sage. Springs, dovecotes, old watermills, and monasteries compose a picture that invites you to discover it.
At the same time, Andros offers unique beaches that cater to all tastes, excellent food, and easy access from Athens. It is an island that harmoniously combines nobility, natural beauty, and authenticity. From the green valleys and stone-built villages to the golden beaches and the vibrant Hora with its museums, Andros offers a travel experience full of light, culture, and hospitality.
