Amidst the eagles’ nests of Epirus

Amidst the rugged peaks of Pindus lies the Tzoumerka, or Athamanika, mountain range. Scattered across the mountains are 47 villages, known as the Tzoumerkochoria.
In this mountainous region, nestled between the Arachthos river to the west and the Acheloos river to the east, the untamed natural beauty of the mountains, the abundant waters, the charm of the stone-carved hamlets, and, above all, the warm-hearted locals and rich local traditions, all promise enchanting experiences. From Vourgareli, Athamanio and Theodoriana, the “fir-kissed” villages of Tzoumerka, to Kypseli, Katarraktis, Plaka with its famous bridge, the amphitheatrically built villages of Agnanta, Raftanei, Christades, the bustling Pramanda with its renowned BBQ restaurants, and finally the twin, stately villages of Syrrako and Kalarrytes, the landscape is filled with breathtaking vistas.
