An oasis of coolness in the heart of Lefkada
If you are looking for an escape from the beaches and the hot summer sun, a hike to the Dimosari waterfalls will offer you a refreshing experience in unspoilt nature. You will begin the route just outside the seaside and cosmopolitan Nydri and head towards a lush, shaded gorge. The landscape is captivating, surrounded by ancient plane trees, dense vegetation and imposing white cliffs rising on either side of the path.
The large waterfall, 12 m high, is the highlight of the route. The water plunges down powerfully into a beautiful natural pool carved into the rock, with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Despite the low water temperature, the pool is ideal for a bold summer dip that will revive you after the walk.
This route is of low technical difficulty, which makes it ideal even for beginner walkers. The maximum elevation you will reach while following the trail is about 80 m, and it will take you approximately 30-40 minutes in total to reach the waterfall.
