The most iconic building in the area is the “Hana”, an impressive rectangular domed guesthouse dating back to the 14th century. It once served as a resting place for travellers and pilgrims and is one of the oldest and best-preserved structures of its kind in the Balkans. The thermal waters of Traianoupoli are classified as hyperthermal, with temperatures at the source reaching 51°C, and are rich in minerals. Traditionally, they have been used to treat rheumatic, gynaecological and skin conditions, while inhalation therapy is particularly beneficial for respiratory issues.
